How much do we charge for an appearance?

The 501st Legion is an all volunteer organization and does not accept payment for appearances. Our membership consists of volunteers, most of whom hold full-time jobs outside of Legion activities.

Non-charity / Community Events:

We do ask for a donation to be made to a charity of your choice, in an amount agreed between yourself and the Events Officer or Garrison Command Team. Generally this amount depends on the requested number of characters. As our members are all volunteers that need to transport their costumes in large boxes/suitcases to your event, we also ask that transport allowances be made for each character.

Charity Organization Events:

We do not request for any donation or allowances to be made.

Other considerations

This is a list of considerations to make prior to contacting an Events Officer:

Secured changing room

Our members will require a changing room large enough to facilitate their numbers in total, with their boxes/luggage bags. This room should be a secure room as wallets, phones and other valuables will be left in there along with clothes while our members are trooping.

Performing abilities

Visibility and mobility is very limited in our armored costumes. Because of this, we are not able to climb up or down stairs easily. Likewise, any obstacles placed on the ground might be dangerous and could cause an accident. Our Events Officers will be able to advise you on what our characters are able to do and not do once in costume.

Lastly, please note

Our ability to satisfy an event request depends on a number of factors including availability of members, location, date/time of the event, and the significance of the event. Events which directly or indirectly benefit the community and/or charity organizations generally receive a better chance of a 501st appearance than private functions (e.g., birthday parties, dinners, weddings). Thank you for your understanding.
